What happens when sports science moves out of the lab and into real training environments?
Together with marathon runner Ville Sjöman, Nomio, and Aonach.xyz, this Fuel & Run session explores how targeted nutritional interventions may influence endurance training adaptation in practice.
What’s behind the Nomio drink — and why are elite endurance athletes using it?
Recent pioneering research has explored the performance effects of isothiocyanates (ITC) derived from broccoli sprouts. In a 4-week intensive training intervention using a double-blinded cross-over study design, the NRF2-activating properties of ITC were shown to support greater training adaptations. Participants supplementing with ITC demonstrated faster performance improvements compared to placebo, alongside headline results including a 12% reduction in blood lactate levels.
This Fuel & Run event includes both an online information session and an in-person training run, where you’ll experience the effects of the Nomio drink yourself.Online Info Session / Monday 9 March at 17:30-18:30 EET (Google Meet)
Ville, Nomio, and Aonach.xyz will host an in-depth session covering the science behind ITC, performance nutrition, and practical application for endurance training.
The event begins with a short recap of the online session, followed by:
- Guided warm-up and running drills led by Ville
- Structured LT1 & LT2 threshold training session
- Practical insights into fueling and performance optimization
Field Measurements:
Optional blood lactate testing enables real-time physiological monitoring during the session.
Participants will have access to performance nutrition products, hydration support, and recovery fueling throughout the event.
This event brings together sports science, endurance training, and community-based learning.
Open to all athletes and runners interested in evidence-based training. Please note that participant capacity is limited.
