Minttu Hukka



Minttu Hukka is an accomplished professional triathlete and skilled exercise physiologist.

She earned her Bachelor's degree in exercise science from Boise State University and completed her Master’s in exercise physiology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her master's research emphasized wearable technology and energy expenditure measurement. Post-graduation, Minttu took up a role as an adjunct lecturer at the university, where she taught Physiology of Athletes. She simultaneously coached runners, both in the U.S. and Finland. In recent years, she has been a human performance laboratory specialist at Huawei Technologies Finland, balancing this role with her professional triathlon pursuits.

Before shifting her focus to triathlon, Minttu achieved remarkable success in running, garnering multiple national championships and podium finishes at both junior and senior levels. She represented Finland in various junior European and world championships and was also a member of the senior national team. Her legacy in running includes holding two Finnish national records.

As a triathlete, Minttu boasts four elite national championship podium finishes, including two golds in middle distance triathlon and duathlon. She is a proud member of the Finnish triathlon national team and is making strides towards international acclaim. Her ultimate professional ambition is to secure a medal at the Ironman/Ironman 70.3 World Championships.

Minttu will be covering topics related to human performance and addressing questions specifically related to female athletes.

 

Asa Butcher


Asa Butcher, a journalist and raconteur, left England for Finland 20 years ago. With a degree in journalism, he plunged into the realm of international media with a keen focus on China. His journey included a significant stint at a Tampere-based international media agency for almost ten years, where he refined his skills and broadened his perspectives.

He later assumed the position of Senior Editor at Spoon Finland, a creative communications agency, where he excelled in producing captivating B2B and thought leadership content, with a forte in journalistic storytelling.

His career in Finland has been highlighted by collaborations with renowned Finnish companies and interactions with individuals from diverse backgrounds, enriching his professional network and deepening his insights into Finland's business environment and culture.

The initial lockdown in the spring of 2020 led to a personal transformation, turning leisurely strolls into passionate runs. Currently, he is preparing for his inaugural half marathon, reveling in the excitement of running and the fulfillment that comes from challenging his boundaries.

Asa is exploring narratives centered around athletes and delving into queries about how athletes can attune to their bodies.
